I still remember taking down the Christmas decoration this year in January thinking to myself, I can’t wait for Christmas to come around again this year. Some would say this year went by so slow but I would disagree. Even though this year was a very weird year for a lot of people, I think it went by quite fast. I just can’t believe it is already the best and most magical time of the year again! Christmas! My family’s favorite time of the year. This time of year that lets go of all the stress and everyone’s worries, for a brief period of time, because everyone is jolly and happy. Today I am sharing with you guys, my latest post, Holiday Gift Ideas 2020!

Well almost all the stress. During this time every year, I always contemplate what I should get for my family. I always tell myself I have to get my list ready this year so I can take advantage of Black Friday and get all my gifts for a good price. But since I started the blog this year, I decided to do my homework a little bit early this year on what great gifts to buy, so that it makes everyone’s shopping this year a little easier!

Ok, let’s start with the easiest to the hardest. 

1. Holiday gift ideas 2020 for the kids. My kiddos. They love everything, anything and everything. Whatever they’re into that year that’s usually what I go for. But to tell you the truth, I can’t stand toys…I think we’re very fortunate we’re able to buy so many toys for them, but I feel like when you have too much of something, they end up not appreciating what they have. So every year we try to limit the number of toys we let our family get them. We usually want to stay around things that are educating, learning, interactive, building, creative, and outdoor toys. So this year is no different. I found some kid’s gifts that my kids love and also gifts I think your kids will love this year too! 
2. Holiday gift ideas 2020 for your hubby! His gifts…I hope he doesn’t see this! Haha well to be honest, for me, my husband’s gift is the easiest to find. Like any man out there he loves cool, outdoor, and hunting-related stuff. I also love getting practical stuff. Socks, underwear, and a nice white tee shirt is a must.  In the past, I’ve gotten him anything Yeti related…if you see our Instagram you’ll know we’re die-hard Yeti fans. If someone you love is all about being outdoors, then you definitely can’t go wrong with something from Yeti. If you want to spend a little more this year or you want something that’s good for the whole family, a Solo stove or the big green egg might be the way to go. We own both and I think that both are definitely gifts that keep on giving. We love smoking a brisket or bbq’ing on a Sunday afternoon on our big green egg and we love having campfire nights with our kids with our Yukon solo stove. The kids love roasting marshmallows and spending nights outside cuddled up near the fire. It’s literally smokeless so I can finally enjoy the fire with a nice glass of wine without worrying about smoke getting in my hair before bed. Since having the solo stove we’ve dined outside more than ever. 

1. Holiday gift ideas 2020 for the ladies!…I think every year men have the hardest time with the women’s gift. I’m already at the point in my marriage where I just tell my husband what I want but it depends from year to year. Some years I like to be surprised and sometimes I’ll give him ideas of what to get me. If he gets me anything cleaning and organizing related, that’ll definitely rock my world. One year he got me the Dyson handheld vacuum V11 and I literally dropped to the floor because I was so happy. (Don’t judge me on what brings me joy). A guy always wants to get something cool but cool to them is different for a woman. Before we got married I always wanted something thoughtful like he actually put thoughts into the gifts, but to them, they just wanted to get us something cool. One year he got me a bbq grill and “I was like ok? Thanks?” They see more of the practical and cool factor and we see more of an effort and thoughtfulness. So yes, to say men and women are from two different planets is an understatement. But yes, now that we’re married it’s a different story. I just want something completely different. I want cozy stuff like good comfy pajamas and slippers, workout clothes, statement jackets, etc. And bonus points, if he decides to plan a little trip to my favorite place on this planet, which of course is Miraval wellness resort. That’s definitely a gift that keeps on giving. So yes, gifts can come in all forms. It’s hard for men to grasp. Let’s help them by giving them some direction and I’m sure they’ll find something we love. We’ aren’t that complicated…we’re actually quite simple.

But this year I have something else in mind. I’ve had a rude awakening about our planet earth. With the wildfires and the stark realization that our planet is in jeopardy, I’ve decided to embark on a zero-waste journey. My goal is to be more mindful of what I’m using and what I’m throwing away which is why, I’ve purchased tons of stasher silicone bags to eliminate disposable ziploc bags, and now I’m going to get rid of paper towels and napkins and start using towels from this company called Marley monsters. I’ve been on this journey for a little while now but I’m still constantly learning. It all starts somewhere right? The most important thing is we’re all  trying to change. Small steps will make a big difference over time, and I’m faithful, we’ll all be able to do it together.
