My kids are crazy about popsicles. But ever since I had such a bad experience with popsicles from that one time at the ice cream truck (high fructose corn syrup with tons of preservatives and artificial dyes popsicle, see here for the whole story), I’ve completely cut my kids off from eating those popsicles ever again. But from time to time, whenever it gets hot, my kids will want a popsicle again, so instead of buying them, we’d make them! Occasionally, we would make popsicles at home and we’ve played around with different recipes to make it as healthy but as delicious as possible. They weren’t all winners, some would be completely sugarless and end up being super sour. Then there were the rainbow popsicles which were fun to eat, but took us FOREVER to make! But over time, we’ve found the right recipe that is healthy, delicious, and fun to eat, and fun to make. Just in time for the fourth of July! I hope you’ll enjoy this delicious July 4th food – fruit popsicle recipes! It’s the perfect popsicle for a hot summer day that will keep your kids cool, happy, and tantrum-free! These are super easy to make and are a big hit at parties. With that said, let’s make a July 4th food fruit popsicle!
How to make July 4th food fruit popsicle
Serving: 10
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 1/2 cup strawberries
- 2 1/2 cups of coconut water
Things you need:
Popsicle Molds
I’ve had these silicone popsicles molds for almost 2 years! They’re great and reusable. And the plus side is they’re way easier to unmold compared to the plastic ones I got before.
Popsicle Sticks
You can buy these on amazon. They’re super inexpensive. I buy these in bulk because I also do arts and crafts projects with the kids.
(you can also use any flavor juices.) I like using coconut water because is very hydrating and it adds a boost of electrolytes. If you want a little sweetener you can always add a little honey (2 tbsp).
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the strawberries into slices
Step 2
Layer the fruit into the mold. To make this July 4th pattern just alternate from strawberry and blueberries.
Step 3
Then you finish the popsicle by pouring the coconut water into the mold
Step 4
Place the lid on the mold. Stick the popsicle sticks in the hold and let it freeze overnight.
