Hey friends! Smoothies are full of taste and nourishment. It is one of the best ways to coup up your cravings and I think it is one of the best ways to stay away from junkies. I’m a big fan of smoothies and I am so excited to share a recipe of one of my all-time favorite smoothies that I love making for me and my family. This healthy blueberry banana smoothie is not an ordinary smoothie. Along with taste and nutrients, this blueberry banana smoothie provides super brainpower. It is loaded with tons of brain-boosting power that’ll help boost you and your kids’ brains for cognition, memory, or brain growth.
As a wife and a mom of three, it is my priority to make healthy food for them that’ll help boost their brain growth. Especially since they’re so young right now eating the right foods really makes a difference. It will help them develop a lifelong habit of healthy eating. This blueberry banana smoothie is full of anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants, omega 3 fatty acids, all of which are great for your brain function.
Spinach/Kale– Spinach is one of my favorite leafy greens to use in my smoothies. Spinach is full of vitamins and minerals. “These vegetables have been shown to improve your eye health, prevent heart disease and cancer.” So, Popeye the Sailor Man was right all along!
Blueberries – Full of anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant
Walnut– Walnut is great for cognition and memory boosting. Have you ever looked at a walnut? If you look closely, it actually looks like a human brain. So, you want to eat more walnuts because walnuts look like a brain so it’s great for your brain health.
Coconut milk or any nut milk or water – Coconut/nut milk is a good antioxidant, and has many nutritional benefits.
Avocado– Full of healthy fats- omega 3 fatty acids
Flaxseed– One of my prime ingredients for a blueberry banana smoothie. It is full of nutrients, high-quality protein, dietary fiber. It also contains Lignans, which reduce the risk of cancer. It is good for everyone but especially people with heart conditions and high blood pressure.
Turmeric– Turmeric has Curcumin which is one of the best memory-boosting foods, it may also improve new brain cell growth. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
Black pepper– Sprinkle a tad to enhance the taste
Chia Seeds– loaded with antioxidant

If I was more knowledgeable back when I was young…I would not eat cereal before my SAT exam! Can you believe we used to think cereal is a healthy breakfast??? I still remember falling asleep during my SAT exam from the sugar crash. Ok, so you get the picture! We want to fuel our body and brain with these nutritious foods, especially in the morning for our kids. I would highly recommend combining this delicious blueberry banana smoothie with a sunny side egg and some smoked salmon. You and your children will feel physically and mentally active throughout the day!
