Oh my…. I feel like this is one of those quests that everyone is either thinking about or questioning! LOSING WEIGHT…I don’t know anyone that doesn’t want to lose weight and I think this has to be one of the top Google searches every year since I started. So how do lose weight? And most importantly how to lose weight naturally?

First of all, I’m a firm believer in staying healthy, getting healthier, and having a balanced life. I don’t believe in trendy diets, losing weight fast, or shortcuts. Losing weight is not about just getting skinny and looking good. Losing weight is about changing your lifestyle, feeling great, having more energy, and living a happier life. So, you might be thinking about how to lose weight naturally? Well, I will get to this soon!

If you don’t already know, my dad passed away from a heart attack at the age of 47 years old. Yes, 47! Crazy right?? He was only 47 years old. I was only 20 years old when that happened. He was overweight and was living quite an unhealthy lifestyle. He was stressed out all the time, never had time to work out, smoked, and had a poor diet!

Or you can say he didn’t have a balanced diet (he never ate vegetables). It was very sad because back then there was a lot less awareness about health and quality of life. People didn’t have access to all the information we have now, especially with technology. Since his passing, I’ve made it a priority to learn how to keep my family healthy which is why today I’m going to share with you the 11 tips on how to lose weight naturally.

11 TIPS TO LOSING WEIGHT NATURALLY

1. Consistency

If you want to lose weight it’s about consistency in what you eat, exercising regularly, staying active, etc. Consistency means creating a system that works for YOU! Remember, fitness is a lifelong journey. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

2. Lifestyle change

You need to change your lifestyle if you want to improve your health. Eating less isn’t the solution, just as working out is also not the solution. You need to step back and examine your life and find ways you can turn small actions into big change! Whether it’s adopting a new morning routine or nighttime routine to work out upping your water intake or adding more vegetables into your diet, just know that change takes time!

3. Kick the Sugar Out

Avoid sugary drinks – Gatorade, fruit juice, anything that has added sugar for obvious reasons. Stick to water and fresh fruits and vegetables!

4. Processed foods

Processed foods are not good for your health and can lead to obesity, gut problems, and an unhealthy lifestyle. Avoid them altogether when you can.

5. Whole Foods

Focus on eating lots of whole foods (no added sugar) such as leafy greens, oats, chickpeas, fruits, etc. They have a ton of minerals and vitamins.

6. Drink lots of water

Water is the key to staying healthy. Your body is made up of water and you need to maintain hydration. Drinking water improves your heart healthy, blood flow, glows your skin, and has countless other benefits.

7. Stress level

When people are stressed it’s very natural for some reason to go for the bad food…People with stress look for comfort food such as ice cream, fries, pizza which can be devastating for their health. Managing your stress is super important.

8. Get enough sleep

Having enough sleep has a huge impact on your life. Your productivity, motivation, health, mood, everything is positively impacted if you’ve had a good night’s sleep.

9. Have an accountability buddy

Have a buddy with whom you will report your progress. You can make targets to achieve, set goals to keep going or have a competition.

10. Cut back on refined carbs (bread, crackers, processed carbs)

Eat more whole food carbs – fruits, beans, legumes, quinoa, and grains. Refined carbs are mostly sugar and processed grain.

11. Stay active

Find something you love doing whether it’s walking, lifting, running, dancing, swimming, etc. Find something convenient and something you don’t have to go out of your way to do. Start off slow, just 10 mins a day, and do it every day, and then after a week, increase it to 15mins. Keep on adding to it at your convenience.

To be totally honest, as human beings, we always want more and the grass is always greener on the other side. Stop wanting what people have and just be happy with what you’ve got. This mentality goes a long way. Stop chasing…be happy with what you have. Especially with your body! Live life by eating healthy, don’t stress, stop comparing yourself to others, and just do you! I promise this will make losing weight a lot easier. I’m always here for support.
