Delicious Savory Oatmeal with Egg and Avocado

Your whole day relies on what you eat in your breakfast. Having a delicious yet healthy breakfast can make your mornings energetic yet fun. If you want to start your morning right then you need to make this savory oatmeal with egg.

Equipment

  • Nonstick pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rolled old fashioned oats
  • 1 /12 cup chicken broth/bone broth
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 sliced avocado
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seed
  • 1/2 tbsp flaxseed
  • 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Oatmeal

  • Add the chicken broth to a small bowl, and bring it to a boil. 
  • Reduce the heat to low and add in the oats. 
  • Stir the oats and broth together and then put a lid on it and let it cook for about 5 mins.
  • Now add in the chia seeds and flaxseeds. 
  • Stir occasionally until the oats are soft and smooth. Now remove from the heat with the cover on and let it sit for 3 mins.

Egg

  • For savory oatmeal with eggs, you should know how to make the eggs the right way.
  • Add in about 2 cups of water in a small pot, and bring the water to a boil. When the water boils, lower the heat so the water is just bubbling and not boiling. Add some salt to the water.
  • Use a spoon or a chopstick, start stirring the water in a circular motion kind of like creating a tornado.
  • Now add in the egg
  • Cook the egg for about 2 1/2 min to 3 mins.
  • Remove it and serve it over the oatmeal.

Avocado

  • Sliced 1/2 avocado and serve it over the oatmeal
  • Drizzle some olive oil on top
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Notes

Notes: If you are a vegetarian, and don’t want to make savory oatmeal with chicken, let’s make a plant base oatmeal bowl, by replacing the chicken broth with just vegetable broth.
