In case you’re new here, I’m a little bit obsessed with gardening. Ok, really obsessed. My garden is my calm and happy place so whenever people tell me they want to start their own, I get so excited! Today, I’m sharing with you my top 11 easy vegetables that grow in shallow containers so that you can grow your own vegetable garden!

To grow these vegetables, you must know that there are some very strict requirements: sun, soil, water, and a container! Ok, maybe not that strict after all! My point is, ANYONE can grow these vegetables! These vegetables can thrive in any kind of backyard space big or small. You don’t need to be an expert at this, anyone can roll up their sleeves and get started. I know a lot of people are totally intimidated by growing vegetables or plants, but trust me when I say, it’s one of the most rewarding and amazing things you can do. To watch your own vegetable grow day by day, harvesting it, and cooking it for your family is such a treat. Again, all you really need is sun, good soil, water, containers, and some tender love and care. I recently built a rain gutter garden on my fence that has pretty shallow depth. It’s a great way to have a garden if you don’t have enough space for a raised bed. It also saves a ton of space by having the garden structured vertically. In the end, I decided to grow a bunch of fruits and vegetables such as strawberries, lettuce, watercress, and edible flowers. Check out my rain gutter garden post for more!
